Samsel Supply Co. received certification from the city of Cleveland as a female business enterprise. The designation certifies that it meets criteria to receive city contracts.

Architectural firm Dorsky Hodgson & Partners named Fred Bejcek a principal.

John Robert’s Hair Studio and Spa partnered with Nestle Corp. to help raise $9,000 in 30 minutes at Nestle’s silent auction. John Robert’s donated $30 gift certificates to reward each person who bid at the “Adopt a School” auction benefiting Alexander Hamilton Middle School and Stafford Elementary School.

HEALTH CARE

Far West Center hired Jennifer Gogolek as program coordinator for the compeer program. Michele Hassen is the program’s new program assistant.

John Frericks was appointed national sales manager of information technology outsourcing at Antares Management Solutions. The company has also secured a contract to provide administrative services to Great American Health Plans Inc. of Erie, Pa.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield signed multi-year contracts with The Cleveland Clinic Health System and The MetroHealth System that tie reimbursement to hospital performance against quality measures.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Ratliff, Taylor & Lekan Inc. promoted Mike Milby to CEO. He assumes the responsibilities of Jim Ratliff, who will serve as chairman and work in an advisory capacity.

Ralph A. Dise Jr., president of Dise & Co., was named president of the Northeast Ohio Human Resources Planning Society through 2005.

Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista hired Thomas J. Stefanik as an associate in the employment relations division.

Stanley M. Fisher, of counsel to Budish & Solomon Ltd., was named a life member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws at the organization’s 2003 annual meeting.

Legal Record Services acquired the local affiliate of the MCS record retrieval group. Robert E. Adelman is LRS’ new president, Nicholas G. Rennillo is CFO and Karen McCormick is vice president.

Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP hired Lawrence C. Davison as an attorney and Bruce J. L. Lowe as a partner, both in the Cleveland office.

MANUFACTURING

Marous Brothers Construction promoted John Draganic to vice president, carpentry division. He is the first employee other than a Marous brother to be named a vice president.

Roger Stanley was named editor-in-chief/associate publisher for the Lawn & Landscape Media Group of GIE Media Inc.

Barbara Belovich was named executive director of the Health Action Council.

John Robertson, president and founder of The RoviSys Co., was named winner of the Control and Information System Integrators Association’s 2003 Charlie Bergman Memorial Award.

Meritech Blue changed its corporate identity to Blue Technologies, a Meritech Blue Company. The company has operations in Cleveland, Columbus and Akron/Canton.
