Ohio’s iconic Towpath Trail that runs along the Ohio & Erie Canalway gets more than 2.5 million visits each year from people treading its historic pathways — locals who come repeatedly to exercise and an increasing number of people from out of state, says Cuyahoga Valley National Park Supervisory Park Ranger Pamela Barnes.
She says the project, which began in 1993, is expected to be complete by 2020. She offers a look at the project, its origins and the history from which it sprang.
